Our Footprint in Namibia
Fuel and Mining Transportation and Logistics
Unitrans focuses its Namibian operation on the transport of petroleum and diesel to its blue-chip clients. The Namibian logistics and supply chain office manages a highly professional organisation of 75 vehicles and over 130 staff.
Mining transportation of salt at the Walvis Bay Salt Refiners to the port requires the highest level of social consciousness and logistics for this short but time-pressured export operation.
Unitrans Namibia is known for the reliable movement of products in remote Africa, assuring the highest levels of quality and visibility. They have the highest SHEQ (Safety Health Environment and Quality) standards, putting the supply chain services ahead of its competitors.
Unitrans Namibia focuses on Performance-Based Standards (PBS) using load-maximised tanker trucks to transport over 270 million litres of fuel over about 4.8 million km a year; economically and effectively, saving their customers costs and minimising the impact on the environment.
Unitrans Namibia has been operating in Namibia since 2005 with its head office based in Walvis Bay. The Depot and operations are OHSAS 18001; ISO9001; and ISO 14001 accredited. The main facility consists of the administration head office with both operations and maintenance services operating from site. This includes: Operations Response Room where our drivers get briefed and de-briefed before and after each trip; Driver refreshment stations, full workshop with 24 hour standby for yellow equipment and fuel equipment and training facilities for continuous training sessions hosting 10 drivers at a time. All training is done in-house in accordance with Unitrans’ safety world class safety protocols.
