NOSA, the National Occupational Safety Association, is South Africa’s leading occupational health, safety and environmental training provider, together with other services like safety auditing.

Each year NOSA conducts safety audits across Unitrans Africa’s depots to ensure that high health and safety standards are complied to.  This is done through their integrated 5 Star system which provides requirements and guidelines that enhance effective implementation and maintenance of safety standards. Every year the efforts of bringing operations toward Zero Harm are culminated into regional awards and ceremonies that recognize the achievements of companies to manage occupational risks.

In Mozambique, Unitrans Africa has maintained a 5 Star rating for the third consecutive year due to continuous, efficient and motivated work towards the highest safety standards across all departments and teams. The Xinavane depot maintained its 5 Star rating in HSE Management and were invited to receive their prize at the NOSA awards ceremony in Sandton, Johannesburg. Our Maragra depot also received its first NOSA 5 Star rating since the beginning of operations. 

The years of success have led to our 2020 eligibility for the NOSCAR award which is the country’s highest safety standard.
